Can I Exercise on the HCG Diet?

To lose weight with the HCG Diet, exercise as well as cutting calories are part of the program.  The good news with the HCG Diet is that:

(A) you don’t feel hungry lethargic all the time

(B) you don’t have to over do exercise at all

In fact, strenuous exercise can/should be avoided while you are on the HCG Diet program. When you are actually on the HCG doses and phase 2 of the diet, it may actually be dangerous to exercise in a high-intensity manner.  You are just not taking in enough calories to survive intense workouts on the HCG Diet.

What Exercises Should I Do?

  • Walking is great exercise on the HCG diet.  Taking a mile or two walk a few times a week on the HCG diet is one of the best ways that you can properly be on the HCG diet and exercise safely.
  • Yoga is great for increasing strength and flexibility.  Yoga is not to high cardio intensive and great for increasing strength and flexibility. The nice thing about being on the HCG Diet is that your body will not lose muscle so effective exercises will greatly improve you weight loss.
  • Another fun way to get in some exercise is low impact aerobics.  Most gyms offer free classes that vary in tempo and technique.
  • You can incorporate some light free weights a few times a week to help strengthen your muscles and increase your metabolic rate.  Strenuous exercise is not allowed on the diet, but that does not mean you have to avoid weights altogether.

The HCG Diet does have its restrictions on exercising, but once off the HCG Hormones completely you can return to normal exercise routines.
